Terms of Service
Last updated August 2026
Zova is operated by NEXXI TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED (RC 9766120), Royal D 2, Orita Obele Estate, Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria. Using Zova means agreeing to what follows.
What Zova is, and what it is not
Zova gives a business a page where customers can book services, buy products and pay. We provide the software and the payment plumbing.
We are not a party to what you agree with each other. When you book a barber through Zova, your agreement is with that barber. We do not employ providers, we do not supervise their work, and we do not guarantee it. If the haircut is bad, that is between you and the barber. We will help where we can, but we are not the seller.
The provider is the seller of record for everything sold through their page. They are responsible for describing it accurately, for delivering it, and for handling any dispute about it.
Money
Payments are handled by Paystack and split at the point of payment. The provider's share goes directly to their own bank account. Zova never holds your money.
Zova charges providers 3.5% of each sale, capped at ₦5,000 on the free plan, or 1.5% on Pro. That figure includes VAT. There is no setup fee on either plan, and no monthly fee unless you choose Pro. On a booking it applies to the deposit only, so money you collect in person is yours in full. Your current rate is always shown on your Payout page, and every sale on your Sales page shows exactly what reached your bank.
Paystack's processing fee is separate from ours. It is added on top of the provider's price and paid by the customer, and it is shown as its own line at checkout before anyone commits. It is not deducted from what the provider charged.
Prices on Zova are set by providers, not by us. The smallest amount that can be charged is ₦500.
Zova Pro
Pro is an optional subscription. It costs ₦7,500 a month, or ₦75,000 a year, and it reduces your commission from 3.5% to 1.5% on every sale. It also gives you accounts for your staff and priority support.
It renews automatically on the same date each month or year until you cancel. We charge the card you paid with. You can cancel at any time from your Payout page, and you keep Pro until the period you have already paid for ends.
If a renewal fails, Pro ends when the paid period ends and your commission goes back to 3.5% from that day. There is no grace period. Nothing else changes: your page, your bookings, your payouts and everything you have already sold are untouched.
Subscription payments are not refundable for a period already started, because the lower rate was applied to your sales throughout it. Cancelling stops the next charge.
We may change what Pro costs or what it includes. If we do, we will tell you before it affects you, and the change applies from your next renewal rather than mid-period.
Everything a customer sees and relies on stays on the free plan. Deposits, tickets, reviews and WhatsApp confirmations are not part of Pro, and a paying provider is not presented to customers as more trustworthy than one on the free plan.
Deposits, and what happens when plans change
Providers may ask for a deposit to hold a booking. The rest is paid in person, or the whole amount may be taken up front. Either way the split is shown before you pay.
If the customer cancels, the deposit stays with the provider. That is what it is for, and the amount is shown before you confirm.
If the provider cancels, the deposit is returned to the customer in full, including the payment fee they paid on top.
A provider can move a booking to a different time. The customer is told, and their ticket is updated.
Refunds
A refund is issued by the provider, and it returns the whole amount the customer paid, the payment fee included. Customers should ask the provider first: the ticket has their number on it.
Providers should publish their own refund policy on their page so customers know where they stand before they pay. Nothing in a provider's policy can remove a right a customer has under Nigerian consumer law.
Money already paid out has to come back from somewhere. A sale settles to the provider's bank within a day or so, and a refund of that sale is funded by Zova at the moment it is issued. Paystack does not return its processing fee on a refund either.
So, where Zova funds or advances a refund of a transaction whose proceeds have already settled to a provider, the provider owes that amount back, and agrees that Zova may recover it by deducting from commission or from any other amount that would otherwise be payable to them. We record every such amount, we show it to the provider, and we never deduct more than is due in a given period. A remainder carries to the next one.
Because of that, Zova may require approval before a refund above a provider's transacted volume goes through, and may hold or decline a refund request from an account we believe is being used fraudulently. This is not a way to avoid refunding customers. It exists so one account cannot draw down money that belongs to everybody else on the platform.
If a customer reverses a payment through their bank or card issuer, the provider is responsible for that amount on the same basis.
If you are a provider
You are responsible for:
- Doing the work you were paid for, at the time you agreed
- Describing what you offer honestly, including the price
- Keeping your stock and availability accurate
- Owning the photos you upload, or having permission to use them
- Refunds you issue, and money owed back to Zova for refunds we funded
- Your own tax obligations. Zova does not deduct or remit tax for you
- Any licence or permit your trade requires
The bank account you connect must be yours. Connecting someone else's account, or a business account you are not authorised for, will get your account closed.
Keep a working WhatsApp number on your account. Every booking, order and payment confirmation is sent there. If messages to your number stop being delivered we will ask you to confirm it again, and until you do, your page may stop taking bookings. A page taking orders nobody is reading is worse for your customers than a page that is closed.
If you are a customer
- Give a real name and a working WhatsApp number, or you will not get your ticket
- Turn up when you said you would, or cancel so the slot goes to someone else
- Reviews should describe what actually happened
Reviews
Only someone who paid can leave a review, and only after the work is done. A provider can reply once. A provider cannot delete a review, because a platform where bad reviews disappear has testimonials rather than reviews.
We will remove a review that is abusive, false, or has nothing to do with the transaction. A provider can flag one for us to look at. Disagreeing with a review is not grounds for removing it.
What you may not do
- Sell anything illegal, or anything requiring a licence you do not hold
- Take money for work you do not intend to do
- Impersonate another business, or use a name or photos that are not yours
- Use Zova to move money that has nothing to do with goods or services
- Issue refunds to an account other than the one that paid, or use refunds to move money
- Try to break, overload or work around the platform
Closing accounts
A provider can close their own account from settings. Their page goes offline immediately, and past records remain. Anything owed to Zova or to a customer at that point is still owed.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why. Where money is owed to a customer we will act to see it returned.
When things go wrong
We work to keep Zova running but do not promise it will always be available. We are not liable for what you lose because a provider did not turn up, because a payment failed at Paystack, or because a message did not arrive.
Where we are liable, it is limited to the commission we earned on the transaction in question, and in any event to the total commission we earned from you in the twelve months before the claim.
None of this limits rights you have under Nigerian consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.
Disputes
If you have a problem with a provider, contact them first. The ticket has their number on it. If that fails, write to us and we will look at what our records show.
These terms are governed by Nigerian law, and disputes go to the courts of Ondo State.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced to providers. Continuing to use Zova after a change means accepting it.
